The Global Development Ambassadors Program

About

The Global Development Ambassadors Program (GDA) was created by the Society for International Development (SID) Israel and GivingWay in order to connect student activists with grassroots level nonprofits in Developing Countries that need help realizing their missions. Unlike many Western NGOs, nonprofit organizations in Africa, Southeast Asia and Latin America are not connected to international funding sources and struggle every day to keep their missions alive. One of their biggest challenges is the need to find sustainable funding sources for their projects.

What do ambassadors do?

The Global Development Ambassadors are on a mission to do good by empowering NGOs on the ground. GDA ambassadors choose a cause they are passionate about and then work closely with the NGO to raise awareness and funds to support its activities. Ambassadors help the nonprofits by:

  • Getting more exposure and awareness for their cause.

  • Growing the NGO's global network and community of supporters.

  • Raising money to support their programs.

How does this work?
  1. Choose a cause you care about

  2. Select a campaign to support

  3. Create a fundraiser for the campaign

  4. Contact the nonprofit to introduce yourself & learn more about it

  5. Work closely with the nonprofit to see how your skills can further support its needs

  6. Promote your fundraiser, raise awareness & funds, and help wonderful dreams come to life!
